Employment

1994-1998 Aldereast Ltd/Hi-Lo Flare Systems (UK) LTD

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

CAD Operator / Web Designer / Internet Liaison / Technician / Machine Servicer / Systems Adminstrator / Welder / Roustabout .

At first I started in the Company as a CAD Operator, to which on the most part I had to learn for myself how to operate not just AutoCad 12 but the system itself, as before hand the only computers I had used were things like Commodore Amiga's, Commodore 16's and a few other machines that are now pretty much extinct.

To start with Dos and Win 3.1 was the operating system [Dos being the operating System and 3.1 just being a GUI [Graphics User Interface] and AutoCad 12, eventually upgrades to Win 95 then 98 occured and a drawing pad & sensor pen was added to the equipment [Along with a A3 Plotter]

Since I was doing technical drawings for both companies, I eventually went out into the workshop [Manufacturing area] to do a little bit of manual labour so as to get a feel for both what I was drawing and what things needed to be noted for the workers to manufacture the designs [This included welding tolerences namely enough gaps for the materials to be fitted together, but nottoo much of a gap so they couldn't be joined]

I then returned to the drawing office and began studying certain portions of technology intergrated with the internet, which has lead me to understand how to Code in HTML/Javascript, a little Java, how to use FTP [originally Telnet was embarked upon but it's phased out a little over the past couple of years], understanding in IP addressing and ISP IP Assigning.

The internet eventually became a main portion to what my work entailed other than the occasional rush schematic that would be dropped upon my lap.. Over my time period with the companies my general knowledge of systems both computerised and real life has grown.

The purpose for so many different trials in trade, was not for I did not fit in any, but purely so I had a WELL ROUNDED perception of the company, and so that I knew exactly hat each division done so that I could conform to what systems had been adminstered.

Training

1998 Business Advisory Centre

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

GNVQ Level III - Business Management

After I was made redundant from the company for the financial turmoil that had made it impossible for the company to continue employing people with pay... I decided to be trained a bit further since the Welfare centre was not allowing me to collect welfare although I had been in employment for four years.

I had envisionments of how to create a chain company that would deal under a certain line but all I lacked was financial backing and the overall assessment of a business plan. So I participated in a course that was designed to teach all aspects of operating a business which is the equivalent of 2 A-Levels [Supposedly]

Unfortunately I still haven't had all my modules signed to gain the qualification as alot happened to me in 1998 [Such as losing job, and not being able to claim welfare which means at present I still have no income and live on the support of my family.. to which they are also getting nearer some seriously hard times.]

The course covered...
USP[Unique Sales Point] and Market Research,
The Do's and Don't for words used in Advertisment,
Strategy & Business planning,
Account Keeping,
Taxation,
and of course Divisional management.

Partial Training

1992 - Left Fleggburgh High School with Maths GCSE (E) so enrolled upon course at local college to resurrect my grades [Which had been hampered by both problems at home and to do with the actual school.]
The Course was called GATEWAY and it was meant for people that didn't have enough brains to gain the GCSE's, that wasn't why I was there I was there as they would not allow me to take a retake.
[When I did GCSE's the overall Grade was marked on 70% coursework and 30% Exam results, due to my problems with the school through the facts of life of BULLYING, I suffered a serious amount of truanting which meant my Coursework suffered although generally I had enough general knowledge to do well in pre-mocks and mocks. I wasn't entered for any other Exams other than Maths for the lack of Coursework, and in the Maths Exam the highest I could from two out of three papers (As that was all they allowed me to do) was a Grade E to which I got with ease.]

The GATEWAY course at Great Yarmouths College of Further Education [FE], turned out to be of little use as both the people on the course were disruptive and it seemed as if the system was belittling me.

So I changed at the beginning of 1993 to a YT [Youth Training] Course, Unfortunately I wasn't placed to any companies and what work I did there was supposedly towards GNVQ Level I and II of Business and Administration, Unfortunately after 6 months the course closed due to government cut backs, which again cut my education again.

While there though I used Amstrad Computers with green screens and a Dos operation system and Wordprocessing packages which would eventually aid me in understanding HTML quickly.

When the course closed I moved to another YT scheme located at Norwich in HI-TEC House, I only stayed there for a couple of months for this problem....
I lived 20 Miles away from the placement, to travel there [which was 20 miles West of my home location] I had to travel 8 Miles East into Great Yarmouth and then catch a train there to go the 21 miles back towards the placement and at the end of each day I had to do the reverse.

I was only earning £29.50 per week and they would refund my travel expenses - £4, which meant I was only earning £25.50 to live on per week.. And that was only when they refunded the travel expenses as they rarely did.
The cost of a days journey too and from the placement was £5.50 return train fare and £1.50 return bus fare, So I was spending £7's a day on travel, 5 days a week... so £35 a week I was spending on travel, and since I only had £25.50 to spend on travel/ feeding and clothing myself it became impossible to continue.

While there the only tutoring that I remember was from tutorial packs located in a filling cabinet which I was asked to go through and do each piece... Within the first week I'd done a draw [Which had taken others on the course 3 months to do]
All they really consisted of was "build a folder structure within Dos, and explain the actions that can be carried out in Dos" Which was easy as Dos is something I grew up with although be in in another form or acronym.

Once I left this course I eventually Started working for the companies that are mentioned in the Employment section.

Other things that can't be assigned any particular heading

Pre 1992 before I enrolled upon a GATEWAY training course I went upon an OUTWARD BOUND course that some larger companies send people on team work campaigns, to which I last the full three week of the course.

When Younger I use to ride horse's, Did Judo and Kung-Fu, Was in the Red Cross / Scout Movement and then the Air Cadet Training Corp [ATC]

Before the OUTWARD BOUND course and AFTER the ATC, I worked in a Nightclub in Lowestoft as a Glass collector and Cleaner, which allowed me also the chances of meeting some of the DJ's at the time and also use SL1210 Turntables, and I was only 15 at the time.

Interests & Hobbies

Well I'm Extremely Computer Lit.
Basically If I'm given a machine and a heap of applications I will know how most of the program works within an hour or so of first gaining access to it, which basically means I need little to nil training on computers if Resources for study are supplied [Handbooks, Guides, Rule listings etc]

I'm also pretty good at piecing computers together from parts, setting the IRQ's and Interrupts so there are no Conflictions, and I'm also pretty good at debugging the system be it in BIOS/DOS/ or within the Windows System.
[This was noticed for Windows disk is usually CD and on some systems you can't get the CD-Rom running until you've loaded Windows creating a Catch '22 or Chicken or Egg kind of problem, luckily using the net allows the right files to be gained to fix the problem.]

To which I have a few Websites to prove from the start to the current the overall diversity of change in both coding and designing:

Http://www.hi-loflaresystemsservices.ltd.uk - I Created for the company
Http://www.fortunecity.com/business/mars/450/ - My design label and also site of the sister company.
Http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/martin_stryder_/ - This site was my First personal / Testing ground
Http://www.fortunecity.com/roswell/druid/94/ - My Second Personal Site / Testing ground and main one.

Http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/austin/269/ - GrayLiners Site, my Pseudonym for helping Fortunecity
I became a VOLUNTEER District Minister here which basically just means I help to maintain a Technocratic pressence and also make sure that Site situated on there servers obey their Guidelines.

Over the past 5 years online I've maintained my status under my StryderUnknown Pseudonym at Http://www.the-park.com on their Philosophy Discussion Bulletin Board, to which I've discussed many topics and taken into many considerations the differing feedback.

Other than my interest in web design I'm also interested in other HIGH LEVEL designs, such as Quantum Computing, Neural Network (Which is why I generally Understand Neurology), Artificial Intelligence Design and Modelling and even some Quantum Mechanics to boot, other points are I am well versed in Macro-Physics and truly feel the need to learn more so as to turn my Macro equations into something where I fully understand the atomics of the macro.

I've read litrature by:
Rene Descartes, Aristotle, Plato, Archimedes, Sun Tzu and Einstein with his Unified Field Theory [To which I still believe is possible], not to forget the endless amount of litrature that has been written by people with no supposed Status, but they too have things relevant to say.
